Maintain proper track tension to prevent the track from derailing, jumping teeth, or making abnormal noise due to excessive slack.
Absorb walking impact and reduce wear on the track rollers, carrier rollers, and drive sprockets.
Ensure smooth travel and improve operational stability and travel efficiency.
Protect the traveling mechanism and extend the service life of the track and the undercarriage components.
Park the excavator on a flat, hard surface, turn off the engine, and clean the dirt around the grease fitting of the tensioning device.
Use a grease gun to inject grease into the grease fitting of the tensioning cylinder.
The track will be gradually pushed out until the tension reaches the standard sag (usually 20–30 mm).
Use a wrench to slightly loosen the relief valve of the tensioning cylinder (do not unscrew it completely).
Allow the grease to flow out slowly until the track sag increases to the standard value, then tighten the relief valve.
Move the machine forward and backward for a short distance, then recheck whether the track sag is appropriate.
Tighten with grease, loosen by opening the valve; adjust by the sag to protect the undercarriage.
